Prevention & Control of Pollution
The Manipur Pollution
Control Board (MPCB) was constituted in 1989. Grant-in-aid is
given to the board every year for effective implementation of Manipur Water
Prevention and Control of Pollution Rules, 1991. Pollution Control Projects are also
to be funded under this scheme. The MPCB is playing a major role for
preventing Air & Water pollution by giving the consent to the small scale
industries especially brick fields and performing regular checking of
transport vehicles.
